This research analyses the commemorative inscriptions dedicated to the thermae Alianae, sited in Africa Proconsulare, which had been praised by vir clarissimum Felice and by Florentino. The text contained in the Anthologia Latina are particularly interesting for their specific references to the beneficial effect of water as reported by sectional literature and archaeological evidence. Anyway, many themes which are still unresolved, should be analysed thoroughly and developed in other branches of learning.
