As a contribution to the pathology of the equine heart the authors describe the pathomorphology of the atrial aneurism in a total of 1186 slaughter horses. The atrial aneurism occurs most frequently at hte age of 5 e 12 years and most often cencern the right atrium. There is no preference for sex or particular breed of horses morphologicqally, 3 forms of aneurism can be differentiated: 1. a. atrial wall as a sequelae of myocardial degeneration and fibrosis. 2. scar like aneurism. 3 muscolar aneurism consisting of myocardial muscolature
