The purpose of the contribution is to investigate the organization of naval dominion companies of the dominae navium in the imperial age, in order to reconstruct the peculiar legal model that regulated them. Attention will then be paid to the Vestale Massima Flavia Publicia, who lived in the third century d.C., domina navium, which, on the basis of the text of a Tabella immunitatis found in Sardinia, in the Colonia Iulia of Turris Libisonis, was exempted from the payment of the portals for the transport of goods from Sardinia to Ostia. The present contribution will try, therefore, to reconstruct the organizational legal model of the navigation company managed by Vestale Massima Flavia Publicia in the role of exercitor navis.
