The aim of this paper is to present the preliminary results of the 1st excavation campaign carried out as part of the Tunisian-Italian archaeological mission in Thignica (Ain Tounga). The work inside the Byzantine fortress in proximity of the W wall brought to light two adjacent spaces (1 and 2): in the innermost one, probably an open area, a floor was brought to light which also reuses some late antiquity funerary inscriptions. Furthermore, some new epigraphical studies, as well as the didactic activities involving the students of the Department of History, Human Sciences and Education of the University of Sassari, are being presented.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the preliminary results of the 1st excavation campaign carried out as part of the Tunisian-Italian archaeological mission in Thignica (Ain Tounga). The work inside the Byzantine fortress in proximity of the W wall brought to light two adjacent spaces (1 and 2): in the innermost one, probably an open area, a floor was brought to light which also reuses some late antiquity funerary inscriptions. Furthermore, some new epigraphical studies, as well as the didactic activities involving the students of the Department of History, Human Sciences and Education of the University of Sassari, are being presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
