A particular hypothesis of transnational labor mobility achieved using digital platforms is taken into consideration. The peculiarity of this form of mobility lies on the fact that the worker is based within the territory of a State, while the work provision circulates and is utilized within the borders of a different State: in the essay this is defined as "virtual mobility". This phenomenon raises a series of issues of private international law regarding the applicable national law; both internal and external virtual mobility within the European Union is analyzed. In the final part of the essay, the issues of regulatory competition that arise in this context are highlighted and the role that digital labour platforms can play in global value chains is outlined.

Abstract
A particular hypothesis of transnational labor mobility achieved using digital platforms is taken into consideration. The peculiarity of this form of mobility lies on the fact that the worker is based within the territory of a State, while the work provision circulates and is utilized within the borders of a different State: in the essay this is defined as "virtual mobility". This phenomenon raises a series of issues of private international law regarding the applicable national law; both internal and external virtual mobility within the European Union is analyzed. In the final part of the essay, the issues of regulatory competition that arise in this context are highlighted and the role that digital labour platforms can play in global value chains is outlined.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
