Abstract
The outbreak of the pandemic represented a watershed in the recent history of China. The strict quarantine measures, taken by the government to limit the spread of the virus in the country, together with the reluctance to share scientific data, especially those relating to research in the virology laboratories of Wuhan, have progressively dented China’s reputation capital. The Chinese leadership has pursued Covid zero as a strategy, which, despite being very effective in the initial phase of the pandemic, has progressively isolated China as never before in the recent past. The progressive isolation coincided with a growing difficulty of external dialogue, the consequences of which in the near future must all be evaluated.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
