This paper presents a phytosociological study of the halophyle, chamaephytic and hemicryptophytic communities prevalently consisting ofLimoniumsp. pl., which are localised behind the dunes of Sardinian coastal sites on sandmuddy substratum in humid and flat areas, between the drier communities and the more hygrophilous ones. New associations described are as follows:Limonietum narbonense-glomerati, Limonictum pseudolaeti-glomerati, Plantagino crassifoliae-Limonictum oristani, Limonictum insulare-glomeratiandArtemisio densiflorae-Limonietum pulviniformis.The new Sardinian endemic allianceTriglochino barrelieri-Limonion glomerati,of theLimonietaliaorder, is here proposed.
