Evolution of the coastal landscape in the north-western Sardinia advanced methods of investigation of Bosa and its river This study aimed to investigate, with a multidisciplinary approach, the area of Bosa, in the north-west coast of Sardinia, in order to identify and define the paleo environments that in the past that constituded an attraction for the settlement of this area. We addressed issues concerning the formation of the river's tawleg over the past three millennia; the rise in sea level in the same period and the relationship between the river and the sea in the area of the river's mouth; the evolution of the coastline, that changed thanks to the help of sediments; the observation of the solar radiation and the presence of fresh water in the valley. We evaluated the presence of nuraghi in relationship with the territory analyzed and we did a series of field surveys, such as a test excavation in the site of Littala and a georadar survey in the plain of Prammas. From those studies we deducted important information, such as the presence of an island now inglobated by the advance of the coastline and some important signs about the presence of the ancient roman town in the valley. A series of ideas came ot from this reserch, those ideas will allow us to investigate further to understand the relationship between the local people and Levantine navigators, between the late Bronze Age and the first iron age.

Abstract
A series of ideas came ot from this reserch, those ideas will allow us to investigate further to understand the relationship between the local people and Levantine navigators, between the late Bronze Age and the first iron age.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
