The Book of the Seven Sages (Lss) was one of the most wide- spread texts of the Middle Ages. Nevertheless its reception and fruition have been only partially studied and deserve a more systematic approach. The goal of this contribution is to outline a history of the reception of the Seven Sages by focussing the attention on the Dolopathos and on the latin Lss textual tradition. The aim would be to prepare a larger investigation of the Book spread beyond the geographical, chronological and linguistic boundaries that this text was able to go beyond.

Abstract
The Book of the Seven Sages (Lss) was one of the most wide- spread texts of the Middle Ages. Nevertheless its reception and fruition have been only partially studied and deserve a more systematic approach. The goal of this contribution is to outline a history of the reception of the Seven Sages by focussing the attention on the Dolopathos and on the latin Lss textual tradition. The aim would be to prepare a larger investigation of the Book spread beyond the geographical, chronological and linguistic boundaries that this text was able to go beyond.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
