Traduire à l'heure de la mondialisation : localisation de l’information et idéologie

One of the consequences of globalization is undoubtedly the dominant position of English as a lingua franca. However, the development of communication and information technologies has contributed to the growth of a multilingual Internet. The flow of information in a global world is characterized by the translation of news in different languages. The international media opt for the localization model used in the field of economics. Information is adapted, domesticated, in order to better correspond to a target audience’s expectations. This article will therefore analyze the role of translation in the field of global news and the different strategies of localization. We will also study the impact on translation of the ideological and political views of particular linguistic mediators such as journalists in the production and circulation of information, especially in complex geopolitical situations.
