A collection of Sardinian isolates oi Biscogniauxia mediterranea (De Not.) O. Kuntze was analysed by means of RAPD-PCR (random amplified polymorphic DNA-polymerase chain reaction), using twenty arbitrary 10-mer primers, in order to detect the genetic variation of the population. Five out of twenty OPA primers were particularly effective in detecting polymorphism. The dendrogram, obtained on the basis of these data by using UPGMA method and Pearson coefficient, showed a high level of genetic variability among the isolates of B. mediterranea analysed.
