Wine is without a doubt the best product to describe the places where it is produced thereby becoming a valuable and sought after ambassador. Nowadays, the landscapes of vineyards conjure new sceneries which give even greater value to its territory while wine tourism has become an important factor in promoting economic development. In the many landscapes of wine it is possible to capture the differences linked to methods of cultivation, the variety of grapes and the primary factors that determine the development of the plant and influence the production of wine: the terroir. Geology is the most striking of these variables, in addition to other elements which contribute to the processes of degradation, as it determines the morphology, therefore the shape of the slopes and their structure, the soil, drainage and the accumulation of water. The focus of this paper is the observation of the relationship which appears to link the quality of the vine to geological characteristics, and the different landscapes that derive from this, as well as reflections concerning tourism. The scope of this work is limited to Sardinia as, of all the regions, it best exemplifies the object of this study given its multitude of geological features and varieties of vines.
