This paper adopts a corpus-based approach to examine the topic of sustainable development in travel journalism in the British press over a 17-year period. Initially, a brief overview of studies on travel journalism is provided. The topic of sustainable tourism is then introduced, and previous academic studies on the topic are described. The paper then proceeds with a description of the corpus used to investigate the topic of sustainability, and connected terms, in travel journalism. Presentation of the results is accompanied by a discussion on how the results can be interpreted. The paper ends with some final remarks and considerations on future avenues of study.
