This research investigates the integration of international Chinese students not only in Italian universities but also in Higher Education in Art, Music, and Dance (AFAM institutions). The study focuses on their intercultural communication and adaptation processes. Drawing on qualitative and quantitative methodologies, it explores the challenges international Chinese students encounter in academic, social, and cultural contexts. Key aspects include the impact of Italian language proficiency on integration, the differences in pedagogical approaches between Chinese and Italian educational systems, and the role of social networks in shaping the students’ experiences abroad. By analyzing these factors, the research aims to provide actionable insights for improving support systems and fostering effective integration for international Chinese students across both university settings and AFAM institutions in Italy.
