In current times, when transformations occur at a faster pace compared to the past, innovative activity has become even more evident and prolific, especially when linked to scientific and technological research. Thus, the interaction between science, technology, and innovation has played a fundamental role in transforming economic and social landscapes worldwide. In this context, science and technology parks stand out as dynamic and multifaceted ecosystems designed to drive innovation, promote collaboration among diverse sectors, and catalyze economic growth, generating benefits and impacts at the local and regional levels. These are spaces that adopt strategies to attract talented individuals, companies, and investments, creating an environment conducive to the transformation of ideas into tangible products and applicable solutions, through the interaction between the government, universities, and the business sector. This tesis, conducted using a comparative method, presents the concepts of science and technology parks formulated both by legal doctrine and other scientific fields. The research also addresses the history of science and technology parks, as well as the innovation policies implemented by the European Union in recent decades, park regulations, and the different forms of legal organization of managing entities. It also addresses the issue of intellectual property rights over what is produced in the parks, along with a brief explanation of technology transfer contracts. Finally, two particular cases of science and technology parks are analyzed, the Supera Parque in Ribeirão Preto, and the Campus empresarial project. This work aims to contribute to the development of research on the subject under study, as well as to provide further elements of novelty in order to enrich the doctrine on the legal issues of science and technology parks.
