There is a large literature investigating the relationship between the habit of reading books and psychological well-being. The present research project has been undertaken with the intention of deepening a specific aspect of the well-being caused by reading, i.e. its importance in expanding the vocabulary. Abstract
There is a large literature investigating the relationship between the habit of reading books and psychological well-being. The present research project has been undertaken with the intention of deepening a specific aspect of the well-being caused by reading, i.e. its importance in expanding the vocabulary. However, during the systematic review of the existing literature, and by analyzing dozens of previously published researches to identify the current state of scientific knowledge, and by linking different disciplines that contribute to giving an overview of the subject, a gap in measuring exposure to books for L1 Italian-speaking readers. In fact, the most effective method implemented so far, namely the ART (Author Recognition Test), conceived in America for the English-speaking public, has never been adapted to Italian. It was therefore decided to proceed with this adaptation, and to develop an IART (Italian Author Recognition Test) that can be used in future research, including those that want to investigate the relationship between lexical richness and individual well-being.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
