The research focused on Gennargentu Mountains SIC area. Territory analysis, identification and classification of habitats, investigation of flora, vegetation and, particularly, forest formations were carried out. Each habitat was identified, defined, cartographically represented and named by a corresponding code according to CORINE Biotopes classification. The cartography supports which have been developed are an important and useful instrument in environmental monitoring and surveying and, more generally, a tool for researchers who are going to carry out studies on ecology and forestal sciences for the Gennargentu area. The correlation found between habitat, geo-pedological substrate and men activities highlighted the peculiar fragility and ecological weakness of this area, and made problems related to their future management and preservation evident. The research pointed out the necessity of introducing rational breeding systems and a sustainable exploitation of resources, but also the need for a better organized management of tourism and outdoors facilities for the preservation of the environmental richness of the place. This study allowed an increase of available data, with the updating of the number of present species and the revision of the endemic species list.

Abstract
This study allowed an increase of available data, with the updating of the number of present species and the revision of the endemic species list.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
