Aim: The temporomandibular joints are the foundation of occlusion. Orthognatic surgery may be associated with morphologic changes of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Three possible response are morphostatis, morphoadaptation and morphodegeneration. Methods: The patients are affections from malocclusion (II class), facial asymmetry, and other clinical sympthom. After a presurgical orthodontic study and programmation , they are submitted to orthognatic surgery to dismorfic of maxillary and mandibular bones. Results: This study want to try to explane how is possible the prevention of temporomandibular joints deseases after orthognatic surgery. Conclusion: It seems obvious that the basis for the occlusion between the mandible and the maxilla is the condyles and the TMJs.Most orthognathic surgeons realize thet failure to place the condyles properly results in some form of failure shortly after surgery. So this study want to explain how is possible have a right result after six months from surgery.
