The dissertationTourism and Local Production Policy.Berchidda Jazz Festival Time in Jazzis based on a social-anthropological approach and marked out by an ethnographical and qualitative method with some research in the field including a collection of interviews and other types of documentation.The research focuses on how a specific group of social actors has created a musical festival thinking at it as an instrument able to start up tourist flows in the specific sphere of culture, music, local products and environment.A group of intellectuals and local authorities has planned a Jazz Festival within the framework of a particular socioeconomic context in an area marked by an agropastoral crisis; this group of social actors knows clearly how to use the natural resources and the local economy as a way to attract a cultural and environmental tourism.The main actors join a cultural association called Time in Jazz that plans the festival and the other projects all the year round. In the execution of the festival we can’t forget the contribution given by volunteers coming from Berchidda but also from the rest of Italy and Europe too. As time goes by the work of the association has become a cultural business that builds up its human and material resources being able to mediate with the various institutions and a lot of municipal districts located in the northern part of Sardinia.
