Grazia Deledda pubblicista: il carteggio col "Corriere della Sera" (1909-1936)

The aim of this dissertation is to contextualize Deledda’s journalistic apprenticeship with a focus on the author’s correspondence with «Corriere» documenting, in addition to the author’s biographical events, thematic and stylistic choices relating to her novelistic production intended for publication in the newspaper, with some information about variants of the novels and modifications of their structure due to requests and suggestions of the newspaper’s direction in order to have regular publication. Grazia Deledda’s - «Corriere della Sera» correspondence (1909-1936), kept at the «Corriere della Sera»’s Historical Archive in Milan, consists of one hundred sixty-six epistolary communications (including letters, postcards, letter cards), matched by the copies of the letters sent by the newspaper from 1923. Among the recipients of the correspondence, in addition to directors of the header, are included important personalities in the cultural sphere of the time as Ojetti, Maffii, Panzini, Biasi to name only a few of them. In addition to providing a valuable contribution to investigations of Deledda’s habits for writers, the correspondence shows a epistolary universe useful to search in several respects (biographical, historical, philological, aesthetic, social), offering insights on the complementarity between epistolary and literary writing in relation to Deledda’s work, thus making it documented the collaborative author’s activity in magazines and newspapers.
