Thirty S. aureus strains isolated from goat’s bulk milk were analysed by multiplex PCR for staphylococcal enterotoxins (SEs) and TSST-1 encoding genes. All strains were tested for gyrA, agr I-IV alleles, SEs genes (sea-e, seh, sek, sel, sem, seo) and TSST-1 (tst). SEA-E production was also tested using ELISA. All strains possessed gyrA and agr alleles. Fourteen out of thirty strains harboured either one or more toxin genes and the most common pattern that coexisted in S. aureus was sec, sel and tst (11 strains). Genes seb and seh were not found. Eight different profiles were observed based on the association of agr alleles, SEs and tst. Further test conducted by ELISA given concordances with PCR in eleven out of fourteen enterotoxigenic strains.
