The present work was carried out within the frame of an Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation Project, (MEDA-SMAP; Short and Medium Term Priority Environmental Action Programme). The Project aims to apply at a demonstrative level and on an extensive scale, some techniques for combating desertification in drylands, based on desertification mitigation and rural development by restoring vegetation cover and producing fodder resources to the farmers.
