This study concerns the faunal remains from the Italian excavations in Crete. The materials studied range from the late Neolithic levels of Phaistos to the early medieval ones of Gortys. As with many islands, most of the fauna present to-day on Crete was imported by man in the time.
In questo lavoro sono stati presi in considerazione i resti faunistici provenienti dalle missioni italiane a Creta. I materiali studiati vanno dai livelli terdo neolitici di Festo a quelli alto medievali di Gortina. Come avviene per molte isole, gran parte della fauna attualmente presente viene importata nel tempo da parte dell'uomo.
