The “Giant's Tomb” of Iscrallotze is on the edge of the basalt plateau which dominates the middle stages of the Tirso river valley. It was excavated in 2008-2009. The monument rests against a flat rocky outcrop which, thanks to the gradient of the slope, is integrated into an artificial basement constructed from large basalt slabs. The funerary chamber was built of projecting layers of stone, and as a result the roof is ogival in form. Mixed techniques were used to construct the walls, which are built with large upright stones and irregular layers of massive stone blocks. In front of the building there was a bilithic curved stele with a lunette and a squared doorway frame. At the top of the lunette, although part of it is missing, one can see two cavities, the remains of the three which were originally present. Almost all of the artefacts found during the excavation came from the exedra and can be dated to the Early Middle Bronze Age.

Abstract
Almost all of the artefacts found during the excavation came from the exedra and can be dated to the Early Middle Bronze Age.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
