This paper analyzes the claim orientation of prisoners confronted with study situations. Prisoner-students ask to be treated like “other students”, to be in “sync with the university”, in a movement that puts forward aspects of the activity not directly linked to the deprivation of liberty, but to studies, understood as positive and liberating. The perspective is that of a categorical “decarceration”, during the course of pedagogical meetings. Nevertheless, the orientation towards constraint reappears immediately in the contrastive argumentation of the practical hindrances opposing the fruition of studies, in places of deprivation of freedom.

Abstract
This paper analyzes the claim orientation of prisoners confronted with study situations. Prisoner-students ask to be treated like “other students”, to be in “sync with the university”, in a movement that puts forward aspects of the activity not directly linked to the deprivation of liberty, but to studies, understood as positive and liberating. The perspective is that of a categorical “decarceration”, during the course of pedagogical meetings. Nevertheless, the orientation towards constraint reappears immediately in the contrastive argumentation of the practical hindrances opposing the fruition of studies, in places of deprivation of freedom.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
