Beauty is not about form but about proportions. Since ancient times we have witnessed a constant effort trying to capture and formalize the “norms” that ensure an aesthetically appreciable result. Many different recipes have been applied: golden ratio, harmonic progressions, geometric proportions or the simple aid of a reference grid. Classical Architecture could not be understood without its “style handbooks”. If I may be permitted an anachronism, one could argue that the Greek temple is a clear example of a parametric creation. The adopted module, usually equal to the diameter of the base of the column, would determine the dimensions of the rest of the elements, from the height of the columns to the frieze, the pediment, etc. The fact is that when it comes down to “creating”, we all apply a set of more or less explicit “composition” rules, learnt formally as such or instinctively fine tuned by experience.

Abstract
The fact is that when it comes down to “creating”, we all apply a set of more or less explicit “composition” rules, learnt formally as such or instinctively fine tuned by experience.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
