LA MANUTENZIONE DEGLI INVOLUCRI MEDIATICI NELL' ARCHITETTURA CONTEMPORANEA

Started in the last century, continued in the new millennium, we are seeing a particular architectural project evolution, thanks to the introduction of digital technologies in the building realization. This change is revealed prevalently on the external building walls, on cityscape, where the skin is only a support for the urban information obtained by bright panels, dynamic or printed cloths, coloured wraps, video installations and so on. The high technological content of building skins, claddings, peripheral layers, in continuously increasing in very complex solutions that determine the difficulty of managing and maintaining those parts related with the cityscape communication. Under a certain point of view the reliability of the entire system is depending by the sophistication of the adopted solution. In same way, some systems, components, elements introduced on these new media buildings are coming from others sectors than those traditional of building sector (mechanic, electronic…). They are sectors where the research, the experimentation and many tests produce results on duration of components, offering great guarantees on reliability and management in phase operation, giving more warranties in reliability that in building sector. This reliability and duration is there the same when the products are transposed on building sector? If the case is this, do these tech-nologies need more attention and/or special maintenance programming?
