The book addresses the most problematic aspects of the trafficking in human beings, in order to provide a series of reflections, interpretations and proposals for intervention. Among these, it is the particular attention to the “Lirea project” that constitutes the common thread of the volume. As an AMIF project, it aims to implement a complex process that begins with survivors’ social rehabilitation and develops through economic inclusion. For this reason, it implies a long-term investment involving the civic society. Through the contribution of the three Authors, the genesis and examination of the factors that intervene in the trafficking’s causation are addressed, in the first chapter (Piga); the good protection practices of reception systems in some European countries are documented, in the second (Pisu). A report is presented on survivors’ and operators' training experience, in the third chapter (Rijo), that shows in which specific way the Lirea project promotes the full integration in the hostes societies and a better way to follow their autonomy.
