This paper presents a study for the assessment of mechanical properties of three layers maritime Pine Cross Laminated Timber panels (CLT). The present work is part of an ongoing research activity and aims to exploit the potentialities of the vibration method for dynamic identification of composite panels. Proposed approach is based on direct comparison between the dynamic identification technique based on beam theories and a sensitivity analysis conducted by a Finite Element Model (FEM). The methodology has been applied to a set of 14 specimens for determining modulus of elasticity E 0 of the panel boards. Conclusions shows advantages and limits of the methodology and demonstrate that the proposed dynamic identification technique can be effectively utilized for dynamic characterization of the CLT panels. The methodology assumes importance as potential quality control procedure, in an economic context where the importance of non-destructive controls is becoming, year after year, increasingly important.
