In this paper we present survey data on the deep coralligenous system of the assessment Area 4 “Argentiera-Vignola” (northern Sardinia), carried out as part of the supporting activity to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). The coralligenous assemblages were observed in three sampling areas of 60, 90 and 120-140 m depth and in each, three random transects were carried out by means of Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV) with high resolution camera. The images after were processed in order to describe the biotic component of dominant populations

Abstract

In this paper we present survey data on the deep coralligenous system of the assessment Area 4 “Argentiera-Vignola” (northern Sardinia), carried out as part of the supporting activity to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). The coralligenous assemblages were observed in three sampling areas of 60, 90 and 120-140 m depth and in each, three random transects were carried out by means of Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV) with high resolution camera. The images after were processed in order to describe the biotic component of dominant populations
