Abstract
We are sometimes amazed and captivated at first with something magical and at the same time incredulous, but as its realistic de- tails and their meticulousness increase, we begin to believe in such reality. Impossible images become real and incredibly beautiful. The clarity of the image coexists with the visual deception; everything takes place with meticulous, precise description and the reality imagined cannot omit any detail, not even “estrangement”. Here is the pleasure of the bricoleur’s thinking, where elements settle between reality and displacement and what is perceived is therefore the effort of the poetic act to bring back unity to the solitude of the fragments. We often find ourselves faced with the representation of contents that include meanings going beyond size, measurements and ma- terials. The will to express leads to invention, probably to the most persuasive part of a project and towards the graphic, plastic and symbolic representation of contents generically called ideograms, “expression through essential elements”. In the 5+1 design experience this will can be found in the construc- tion of a vocabulary of architecture made up of signs and represen- tations, each time original in their renewal and reflection, carried out for more than twenty years through the constant dialogue be- tween form and matter and the search for new observation points. From the start, these have investigated urban and architecture issues in the close relationship between the quality of public and of private space, and in the representation tending towards the “private” but also the “collective”. The axiom they follow in steer- ing design action is, however, to give matter back its rights. For, by involving different capacities for listening and reading contexts, projects are implemented with that magic realism that creates a dialogue between form and matter, enveloping them in what Bon- tempelli called an atmosphere of lucid amazement.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
