Throughout almost forty years of activity and professional success, there have been many publications and critical texts dealing with the work of Odile Decq that have dwelt mainly on certain figurative aspects of her projects. Her personal taste in clothing but also, and above all, the particular drawings used in her projects were taken by critics as a pretext and departure point to describe the research and projects of the studio’s early years. Almost four decades of studio work have shown, however, how deep Odile Decq’s research has been, creating the need for criticism to be based on a more careful, in-depth analysis of her design process. The index of this book runs through Odile Decq’s complex, articulate work, suggesting a reading by important themes linked mainly with her motley professional activities.
