The Carthaginians towns of promunturium Mercurii after the Punic War III suffered a major crisis, because of their loyalty to Carthage. The urban structure in Roman Republic is based on the deductio of coloniae by Caesar: Carpis, Clipea, Curubis and Neapolis. During the imperial period are added the coloniae of Pupput and Canopis.
