The main climatic features of the Asinara's Gulf western coast in 1958-90 period and, particularly, in 1985-90 period are described in order to classify the climate of the area. The standard thermal seasons according to the Hartshorne and Jefferson scheme are two in coastal station (Fiume Santo) and four in Ottava station. The yearly rainfall is poor (485 * 534 mm/y) and is distributed as follows: maximum rate in autumn or winter, minimum rate in summer (sub-Mediterranean or Mediterranean regime). The climatic type by Pinna's classification is warm temperate in Ottava station, semi-arid subtropical in Fiume Santo station.
