The De Sanctis Sardiniae is the only Sardinian hagiographical collection of the 16th century that came to us. Through this work Giovanni Arca intends to celebrate Sardìinian land, for having professed the orthodoxa fides ever since the beginning of Christianity. The apologetical feature is obviously one of the main aspects of yhis collection that, as many contemporary others, aims to defend the cult of Saints in which cultural heritage of Sardinia can be found and the same time universality of Catholic faith. The work can be analised from a structural point of view. The compositional devices chosen by the auctor has to be focused, using e specimen a biography for each one of the three volumes.
