First Contact with the Extra-Pedestrians, Multi-level Narrative and Urban Actions for a Peaceful Invasion

‘Extrapedestri’ is a project in the town of Sassari, Italy, developed by TaMaLaCà, an all-female group of research and action of town planners and architects from the local University. Different actions are structured around a powerful narrative: a contact with an advanced alien civilization, which has long ago abandoned the use of fossil fuels and wants to help us to do the same. The purpose of the campaign is not only to reduce pollution, but also to report and remove physical barriers that restrict the accessibility of urban areas and to free spaces for children's play. The paper aims to illustrate the multi-level-narrative strategy used in this project as well as other instruments and tactics used by the TaMaLaCà group in this and other campaigns and actions, as an inspiring model for many urban contexts.
