Tornato pith necrosis by Pseudomonas corrugata Roberts et Scarlett. Tomato pith necrosis, a bacterial disease by Pseudomonas corrugata Roberts et Scarlett, has been found for the first time in Italy severely affecting greenhouse cultivations in southern Sardinia. The disease characters and inducing factors are described as well as the results of pathogenicity tests. The pathogen has been identified by morphological and cultural characters, as well as by biochemical and serological tests. Agronomical means suitable to prevent the disease are discussed.
