A comparison has been performed between magnetic and structural properties of Fe/Al multilayers, thermally evaporated in vacuum, as a function of the Al interlayer thickness. A softening of the magnetic material has been observed at a critical Al interlayer thickness corresponding to a drastic interruption of the textured growth of the Fe nanograins.

Abstract
