Cooperazione Internazionale per la Ricerca e lo Sviluppo in campo AgroAlimentare ed Ambientale

The European Union is today confronted with a number of trends which have a direct impact on its science, technology and innovation policies, such as: increased globalization of research and innovation activities; the need to access knowledge globally to remain competitive; the need to attract talent globally to Europe to develop the economy; the emergence of new research and innovation powers (BRICS, Korea, Singapore, etc.); the need for global research & innovation cooperation to address key societal challenges which require a large-scale effort. The challenge is to create the political and economic scale needed to develop balanced scientific and industrial links with big scientific & technological powers and fast growing economies. Europe must increase its capacity to speak with a coordinated voice to raise the impact of the messages it conveys on the international scene.
