The most recent statistics point out in Italy more than 3.000 Communes with less than 2.000 inhabitants and, in more and more cases, some build-up centres which are interested in an heavy depopulation. A lot of hauses in these small towns have been left because of emigration; neverthless, not a few of them constitute a building estate of great value, in materials typologies and contribution to the beauty and typicalness of landscape. The project of the widespread hotels springs out from the requirement of conforming the tourist supply to peculiar segments of demand and from the necessity of ensuring a fit and creative combination among fruition, environments and spots still well-preserved, with the chance of receptives hospitality above all, where no traditional structures exist, or where it does not seem convenient set them up according to the modalities of consolidated investment (shelters, tourist villages, residences). The idea of the widespread hotels goes, moreover, promoting the opportunity of reinsert, in professional activities, subjects otherwise left out, so giving the possibility of profits or integration to domestic budgets. In The article it will be analised the experience of the widespread hotels in the Commune of Santu Lussurgiu (Sardinia).
